Enriching disordered speech

Objectives

The aim of this project was the study and design of data- or knowledge-driven voice/speech transformations to enable communication in the context of disordered speech. Thus, speech was to be enriched by boosting its intelligibility and pleasantness when possible.

The project was carried out at the AHOLAB Signal Processing Laboratory in the Department of Communications Engineering at the University of the Basque Country campus in central Bilbao.

The project was supervised by Prof. Inma Hernaez and Dr. Eva Navas, with additional supervision from Prof. Yannis Stylianou (University of Crete, Greece). The project was carried out in collaboration with, and involved extended visits to, both the University of Crete (Greece) and IDMT (Germany).
